A sceptre spoken of in lore...
And sealed away since days of yore,
Unleashes its forbidden power,
And heralds Trodain's darkest hour.
Your quest has begun!

Chapter 1 Farebury / Waterfall Cave - The Beginning of the Quest
(Munchie running. Stops in front of Trode. Trode looks at it, and it is scared and
runs back to its master -- our hero.)
Yangus: Oy! Guv! It's gonna get dark if we 'ang about 'ere much longer. Let's
'ead inta town. There's better places than this to spend an evenin'!
Yangus: Shake a leg, guv!
Hero talks to Yangus.
Yangus: I've prob'ly said it before, but it beats me 'ow you ended up workin'
for an old codger like 'im! Not that I can talk, though, eh?! Guess people say
the same thing about me workin' for you.
Trode: Hm? Old codger!? I do hope you're not referring to me! What would you
know!? A lowlife like you wouldn't recognise nobility if it came up and bit you
on the...arrrgh!
(They stare at each other angrily.)
Trode: Enough dilly-dallying! (Hero)! Where's the Princess? I can't see her
anywhere...
(When they are looking around, hoping the Princess would appear, suddenly three
slimes appear.)
Yangus: Uh-oh! Here comes trouble, guv!
(Hero and Yangus fight and defeat the slimes.)
Trode: Well...they certainly took us by surprise. But nothing we couldn't
handle, eh!? Now, where's the Princess!? Where's my Medea!? My precious one and
only daughter!?
(Trode looks around and finds his Medea - a white horse :P)
Trode: Ah! There you are! Thank goodness you're safe, Medea!
(Trode runs and hugs the horse....OMG)
Yangus: Aye-aye, the 'orse-princess is back...I say we make a move now, before
it gets dark.
(The three are walking into the Town of Farebury. The townspeople are
frightened when they see the monster-like appearance of King Trode. They then
walk past a burnt house, and finally they stop at a corner of the town.)
Trode: Yes. Yes! Here we are. If my memory serves me correctly, this is the
place. This is the town where Master Rylus lives.
Yangus: Hold yer 'orses, grandad! I thought it was Dhoulmagus we was after.
Trode: I AM NOT YOUR GRANDAD! And of course Dhoulmagus is our man! He's the one
who turned Medea and I into such laughing stocks! But that dastardly magician
can't hide from us forever! We must track him down and lift this confounded
curse! Oh! Just look at my poor Medea! And we'd only just settled on her
engagement to the Prince of Argonia... Oh, that despicable Dhoulmagus! That's
why it's imperative we locate Rylus! Will you go and find him, (Hero)?
IF YOU CHOOSE NO THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Trode: Bu- D-Don't you see!? Rylus is the very man who taught Dhoulmagus his
meddlesome magic! There's every chance Rylus will be able to give us a clue as
to Dhoulmagus's whereabouts. That's why you must find him. I'll be waiting for
you here.
IF YOU CHOOSE YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Trode: That's the spirit! I knew I could rely on you, (Hero)! I'll be waiting
here.
(Now that you're free to move, talk to Trode.)
Trode: Master Rylus is the fellow who taught that accursed Dhoulmagus his
magic. He might be able to impart some information to us about the whereabouts
of that devious scallywag. I want you to seek him out, (Hero). I'm sure he
lives in this town.
(Talk to Yangus.)
Yangus: But I s'pose we'd better do wot 'e says. Shall we get goin' then, guv?
(Yangus joins your party.)
(Talk to Trode again.)
Trode: Dhoulmagus is the wicked one! Rylus was merely his teacher, and that was
a good while ago.
Trode: He has nothing to hide. So it should be a simple matter to locate him.
I'm counting on you, (Hero).
(In the bar, Hero talks to a bearded man.)
Man: Hello. Are you looking for someone?
IF YOU SAY YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Man: Master Rylus!? So...you haven't heard? Master Rylus died in the fire the
other day. Actually, just between you and me, I think he was murder- Oops! I
shouldn't have said that! Forget I mentioned it!
(Hero is approaching Kalderasha who is apparently drunk, and arguing with the
bartender.)
Bartender: Haven't you had enough, Mr. Kalderasha, sir? I'm sorry but I've got
a business to run. This, er, haphazard fortune-telling of yours is costing me
a fortune in free drinks!
Kalderasha: WHAT!? My fortune-telling... HAPHAZARD!? Are you a complete fool!?
Let me tell you something for free. All fortune-telling is 'haphazard'! What do
you expect!? Anyway, so what if I saw it? So what if I foretold the fire? If
I'd tried to stop it, then what!? It would only have led to another disaster,
that's what!
Bartender: I'm sorry, Mr. Kalderasha, sir. I don't follow...If you're saying
you knew about the fire, shouldn't you at least have warned Master Rylus?
Kalderasha: Yes... Poor Rylus... How many times I argued with the old man...
I cannot believe he is gone...
(Hero talks to Kalderasha.)
Kalderasha: What!? What is it? Hmm!? ...You! Come, show your face to the Great
Kalderasha! Yes! Yeeesss!
(A man with blonde hair suddenly openes the door of the bar and yells:)
Man1: Q-Quick, quick! Everyone come quick! There's a monster in town!
Man2: What!?
Man1: Just come and see! The whole town's gone crazy!
(People in the bar all rushed out, and the Hero rushed out too, but the front
passage to the town square blocked, and instead a man tells that it is too
dangerous down there. With curiosity the Hero go down the stairs in the back
of the town, and finally the Hero arrives where the crowd is.)
Yangus: Wot the...!? This ain't good, guv! Come on! Look lively!
(Crowd are staring at Trode which is apparently monster-like, frightened.)
Crowd1: Urgh! It looked at me!
Crowd2: Ewwww! It's hideous!
Crowd3: Get out! Get out, monster! You're not welcome here!
(And the crowd was throwing stones at Trode and Medea. Although the Hero and
Yangus are able to bring Trode and Medea out of town, people are still getting
angry at them.)
Crowd: Get out! Out out out out! Get out of 'ere! We don't want your kind 'ere!
(Under the full moon...)
Trode: Well! That was a fine reception! Don't they realise who I am!? Hmph!
Judging a book by its cover! Don't they know it's what's inside that counts!?
Yangus: Yeah! You can say that again!
Trode: So then, (Hero), did you manage to find Master Rylus?
IF YOU CHOOSE YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Trode: What!? He's dead!? Oh, no, no, no...
(Trode walks a bit.)
Trode: Well...I suppose there's no point crying over spilt milk...It's
Dhoulmagus we're after! He's the one who cursed the Princess and I, after all.
He's the one who made us look so ridiculous! I had hoped Rylus might be able to
help us locate him. But it seems we'll just have to track Dhoulmagus down by
ourselves. With Rylus gone, we have nothing further to gain from staying here.
Let's be on our way!
(Trode is about to get on the wagon when a girl said in the back of the
party...)
Girl: Wait! Please...wait...I'm sorry to come running after you like this. It's
just that...I wanted to ask you a favour.
Trode: Are you not afraid of me, young lady?
Girl: I dreamt about you...I dreamt that some people came to town with a
strange creature. It was...sort of halfway between a human and a monster...And
I dreamt that they could make wishes come true...
(Trode's shocked by the phrase 'strange creature', while Yangus was laughing.)
Trode: A strange creature!? Are you referring to me?
Girl: I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to be rude!
Trode: Heh, not to worry. I've had worse things said to me today! You know, you
remind me of my Medea. You're about the same age. Anyway, you say you had a
dream about me? Most peculiar...
Girl: I'm sorry...I haven't myself. I'm Valentina, daughter of the great
fortune-teller, Kalderasha.
Valentina: If you could just come to my house, I'll explain everything there.
It's by the well, at the far end of town. I'll be waiting for you!
(After those words, Valentina goes back into town, and Trode look very happy
with some sort of a...evil smile)
Yangus: Wot was she rabbitin' on about? Come round my 'ouse, she says...
Trode: Magnificent! She wasn't afraid to look at me at all! Not one bit! Ah,
she reminds me of my Medea! We must give this young girl a helping hand!
Right then, (Hero), my boy! Go and find the house by the well and see what it
is she wants. Hm? Me? I'll wait here with the Princess. We don't want to cause
any more of a stir.
(Trode is back to the wagon while the Hero and Yangus go back into town.
According to Valentina's guideline, the Hero go into the house by the well.
Valentina is sleeping on the table with a big crystal ball.)
Valentina: Ah! You came! I'm so sorry! I, I must have drifted off. How rude of
me! I wanted to ask you a favour about this crystal ball...Sorry, I'm getting
ahead of myself. Perhaps I should start from the beginning?
IF YOU CHOOSE YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Valentina: Of course. Let me explain. My father, Kalderasha, was once a really
famous fortune-teller. Lost treasure, missing people... There was nothing the
Great Kalderasha couldn't help people with. But then one day he lost his
powers. All of a sudden, nothing he foretold turned out to be true any more.
It's probably because he stopped using a real crystal ball. This glass ball
isn't-
(Kalderasha suddenly opens the door and comes in.)
Kalderasha: Valentina! What is going on here!? How many times have I told you
not to touch my crystal ball?
(Kalderasha looks around and sees the Hero.)
Kalderasha: What? Aren't you that boy from the pub!? What brings you here?
...Never mind! I do not know what my daughter has asked you, but you can forget
it! I do not need your help! I am fine as I am. I am going to bed. Valentina!
Say your farewells and show our young visitor to the door.
(Kalderasha goes up the stairs.)
Valentina: I'm sorry about my father. But whatever he says, he's the one who's
really suffering since he lost his powers. That's why I wanted to ask you this
favour. Can you find him a crystal ball? One that's big enough to bring back
his powers?
IF YOU CHOOSE YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Valentina: Really? You will!? Oh, this is exactly how it all happened in my
dream! So far everything's come true! I also dreamt that there's a crystal ball
hidden deep inside the cave under the big waterfall to the south of town. I
suppose only the daughter of the Great Kalderasha could know a thing like that!
(After that, the Hero go out of town and meets Trode again.)
Trode: Hmmm, I see...Magnificent! Such devotion to her father! I'm impressed!
Just how a daughter should be! And if this Kalderasha gets his powers back,
there's nothing he can't find, am I right? Then we'll kill two birds with one
stone! If everything goes according to plan, we'll find out where that hateful
Dhoulmagus is. But time's getting on. Medea and I will stay outside. That's the
last time we set foot in a barbaric town like this. But you should spend the
night at the inn and rest well so that you're ready to take on the world
tomorrow! In the morning, we leave for the waterfall cave!
(The Hero and Yangus walk back to the inn and rest.)
The innkeeper: It was dark so I can't be sure, but I think the little old man
you came with slept in his wagon outside the town gates last night. Anyway,
have a safe trip!
(The Hero and Yangus go out of town by the south gate and meets Trode.)
Trode: Ah, (The Hero). I weas starting to think you'd got lost! Right, let's go
to the waterfall cave and see if we can find that crystal ball. Medea and I
will be right behind you. If you have any trouble, feel free to consult us. I'm
sure there's nothing we can't solve if we put out heads together! Away we go!
(The party arrives in front of the waterfall cave.)
Trode: It looks like we've found it. Naturally I'd love to come in with you,
but I couldn't possibly put Medea in danger. I'm sure you'll do a fine job of
finding the crystal ball without us, (Hero). We'll be waiting here. You be
careful in there!
(The party then goes into the cave. In B3 there's a big waterfall at the dead
end, and when the party approaches...)
A crystal ball is suspended in the air! Reach out and take it?
IF YOU CHOOSE YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
(A hideous fish-like monster named Geyzer suddenly come out of the water.)
Geyzer: Wha ha ha! Surprise, surprise! Meet Geyzer! I am the master of this
waterfall! Oh, how long it's been! How many people have gone and come! Ten long
years and more I've waited! Ten years, I tell you! All the time hoping for the
left one...I mean, the right one to come...But enough with the introductions!
Now for the troment of muth! Does this brystall call...er, crystal ball belong
to you?
IF YOU CHOOSE NO THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Geyzer: No!? But, Iwas sure you were the one! Oh, the lone, longly years! Ah,
go, then! My wait continues!
(Geyzer then go back into the water. If the Hero touches the crystal ball again
Geyzer will come out again...)
Geyzer: What? You again? I, Geyzer, am the master of this waterfall, I tell
you! Oh, how long it's been! How many people have gone and come! Ten long
years and more I've waited! Ten years, I tell you! All the time hoping for the
left one...I mean, the right one to come...Now then, have I asked you this
bethree...er, before!? Does this brystal call...er, crystal ball belong to you?
IF YOU CHOOSE YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Geyzer: ha ha ha haaa! At last! At last we feet, mace to mace, you halfwit
human! Now I'll teach you moron! Argh! I mean a lesson you won't forget!
(The party fights Geyzer and beats him. Geyzer scracthes his head painfully.)
Geyzer: Argh! The pain, the pain! Oh, my old wound! Ever since I got this, I've
not been right quite. And it's all because of you! What!? you don't know what
I'm talking about...? Then you...You're not the true owner of this crystal
ball! No! The shame, the shame! So strong! Strong enough to withstand my
fearsome might! You are no tortune-feller! Wait! Could you be...? The waterfall
rears many humours, you know. I hear that a castle called Trodain has been
cursed. That it was run over...overrun by throns. And that only one person
inside survived. He set off on a journey, leading a corse and hart with a lone
driver.
(There is a flashback to Trodain castle, when the whole castle was destroyed by
thorns, and the Hero, in palace guard uniform, survived the disaster and got
up.)
Geyzer: As I thought! That was you! I don't know what you want with this
crystal ball...But it's yours now. I accept dehands... Or is it defeat?
(Hero takes the crystal ball and puts it in the bag.)
Geyzer: One last thing! Should you meet the true owner of this crystal ball,
tell him this from me! DON'T THROW THINGS IN THE FALLWATER! So, ware thee fell!
Oh, the pain, the pain! The pain of my old wound!
(Geyzer goes back into the water. After that, the party leaves the cave and goes
back to the town of Farebury, and reaches Kalderasha's house.)
Kalderasha: I knew you would return before long. And it seems you have done as
Valentina asked. You see! Even with a glass ball, the Great Kalderasha's eyes
see further than you realise! But you are meddling in matters that do not
concern you. And you are wasting your time. You can bring back my crystal ball
as many times as you like. I will just throw it away again! What!? Don't throw
things in the waterfall? It might open up an old wound? What on earth are you
talking about?
(Kalderasha stands up and walks around a bit.)
Kalderasha: Enough! Listen to me! No one knows why I threw away my crystal
ball. Even Valentina has no idea. I'm not about to confide in a stranger. Give
it to me! This time I will smash it into a million pieces, so it never finds
its way back to me again!
(Suddenly, Valentina's crying voice is heard.)
Valentina: Stop! Please stop, Father! I know! I've known for ages...I know why
you threw away your crystal ball.
Kalderasha: You, you know...!? So you know about your real parents?
Valentina: Yes. And I don't blame you for their death.
Kalderasha: Why not? How can you not blame me, Valentina? How can you not hate
me?
Valentina: Because you were just fortune-telling. Just doing what you do best.
I was too young to remember, but...you were once a truly great fortune-teller,
weren't you, Father? No one knew where my parents had fled to. But to you, it
was as clear as day.
Kalderasha: ............Back then, there was nothing I could not see. The Great
Kalderasha was known all over the world. I was walking on air. Fortune-telling
was my life. It was my soul. I thought only of myself. Be they good or bad, I
cared not who asked me to use my crystal ball. I lived for the vision!
Valentina: It's all right, Father. You're a good man. You took me in and raised
me, didn't you? When I was just a helpless baby. I want to see it for myself. I
want to see the Great Kalderasha in all his glory! I want to see your magni-
ficent powers at work again, Father.
Kalderasha: Oh, my sweet Valentina...
(The party sleeps at Kalderasha's house. Next morning, when the Hero wakes up
and goes downstairs...)
Kalderasha: So you are awake at last! It is already past midday. You must have
been exhausted. I must thank you and your friend. Look! I have put my crystal
ball back where it belongs. Many years have passed since I gazed into the
crystal like this... I have to thank you for returning it to me.
(Suddenly the crystal ball flashs with a strange light.)
Kalderasha: W-What is this!? Yes, yes! I see it! I see it! There is a jester! A
jester breaking through the southern checkpoint! Yes The mists are clearing!
And the same jester murdered Master Rylus! Yes! Yeeesss! The mists are
clearing! Ah!? Can it be...? Surely not...He has changed, but there can be no
mistake. It has to be Master Rylus's former pupil...Dhoulmagus!
(Yangus suddenly wakes up because of the name of you-know-who.)
Yangus: Huh? Wot!?
(Yangus rushes downstairs and stares at the crystal ball with the other two.)
Yangus: Guv! He said Dhoulmagus, right? That's our man! That's the evil
magician you an' the old grandad are after, innit? So where'd 'e go after that?
Wot else can yer deduct?
Kalderasha: What else...? Let me look deeper. Hm? What's this...? Yes, no
question. This is definitely my old crystal ball. But, look here! It has been
chipped. Hm! It must have hit something very hard to do this damage. And Look!
Someone has scratched some letters next to the chip...What!? Halfwit!? Who's
the halfwit!? What ignorant lowlife would do this to my crystal ball?
Yangus: You wot!? When I asked wot else yer could see, I didn't mean ON the
ball, I meant IN the ball! Wotever! Oh, come on, guv!
(Talks to Kalderasha again.)
Kalderasha: In my crystal ball I see Dhoulmagus! It was Dhoulmagus who murdered
Rylus! Perhaps he is trying to eliminate everyone who knows who he is. Or per-
haps he has other motives. Even I do not have all the answers! But through the
mist I see this Dhoulmagus breaching the checkpiont as he moves south. There is
a small village called Alexandra in that direction. I can tell you no more.
Thank you for everything you have done. I wish you good fortune on the journey
ahead.
(Hero then talks to Valentina.)
Valentina: Thank you so much! You've been so kind! I know he can still seem a
little twisted, but he's changed. I can see it in his eyes. That sparkle. I'm
sure that's the old Kalderasha. The one I never knew. I know he's not my real
father, but that doesn't matter to me. You might find it hard to believe, but
he was such a wonderful father to me when I was a child. Oh dear! There I go
again! I'm such a chatterbox! You have to go now, don't you? Would you pass on
a message to your little green friend for me? Just tell him I said thank you.
(After these, Hero walks out of Kalderasha's house, and then out of the town.)
Trode: So? What happened? Did you do what the young girl asked? Hm? Well?
(The hero explaines the whole thing, and Trode look very shocked, knowing the
truth.)
Trode: WHAT!? Dhoulmagus killed Master Rylus!? The same Dhoulmagus we're
looking for? That fiend killed his own teacher!? And you say he headed south?
Then there's no time to lose, (Hero)! We must go after him at once! Let's be on
our way!
(The party then heads to the next destination -- Alexandra.)
Chapter 2 Alexandra / The Foul Deed of the Evil Jester and Jessica's Revenge
(What a beaufitul little town! The party goes into the town, but two little
boys, Bangerz and Mash, stop them, thinking the party as bandits.)
Bangerz: Halt! Who goes there? Don't waste your breath, scoundrels! I can spot
bandits a mile off! This is for Alistair! Come on, Mash! Let's get 'em!
Mash: Yessir, Bangerz!
(Mash then runs up and the two take some attack stance.)
Bangerz: Prepare to meet your maker!
(Battle ensues, yet before both sides have a chance to act, a woman voice can
be heard in the background.)
Woman: What on earth are you two rascals up to now? Stop it at once!
(The two little boys look back, and see an old woman.)
Woman: Where are your manners!? That's no way to welcome travellers!
(Then the woman smacks Bangerz's head.)
Bangerz: Ow!
(...and Mash's head.)
Mash: Ow!
Woman: Didn't Miss Jessica ask you to run an errand for her? And here you are
playing around!
Bangerz: Uh! I forgot!
Woman: You'd better run along before Jessica finds out!
Bangerz: Yikes!
(and the children run away. The woman talks to the party.)
Woman: I'm so sorry. They don't mean any harm. It's just that our village has
been through a lot lately. Ask around for yourselves. You'll see. There's no-
thing wrong with the place, mind. It's a lovely village, really. Make your-
selves at home.
(Then the woman walks away. The party then goes into the Albert mansion. In the
second floor we see a delicately-dressed young man, a middle-aged woman sitting
nd the two children we encountered earlier standing in front of a door. The
party talks to them respectively...)
Woman: Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rosalind Albert. Sadly, my
family is currently in mourning. No one is permitted to set foot outside the
house. I'm afraid that my daughter is less than happy about this arrangement
and has confined herself to her room. She's even asked those boys to stand
guard at the door. I'm sure I don't know what's got into her.
Man: Ha ha hah! Congratulations! You have the great pleasure of meeting...I,
the world famous poet, Lorenzo! Not only am I the son of the Chancellor to a
large and prosperous kingdom, but I'm also the lovely Jessica's fiance. Yes,
that's me! She lost her brother recently, so I came here today to comfort her.
But I seem to be faced with an unexpected obstacle to our love. There are some
brats in front of her room who won't let me in. Ah, the sea of true love is
strewn with the flotsam of despair! But I shall crest the waves of adversity
and find harbour in my lady's bosom!
Bangerz: Oh, it's you. I'm sorry about before. But not sorry enough to let you
through here. I'm under orders, see. Jessica said she doesn't want to see any-
one, so I can't let people through.
(The hero then goes up to the third floor, and talks to the maid there.)
Maid: Oh! Look out! It isn't safe here! Just look! There's a mouse! I hate
mice! Why do I have to deal with it? Ohhh...
(We see a mouse running through and eventually goes into a small hole on the
foot of the wall.)
Maid: See!? See!? Did you see it? Just now!? What am I going to do!? Jessica's
room is on the other side of that wall! Oh, dear...
(As we examine the hole, we decide to send Munchie through it...We see a letter
on the desk, so Munchie acquires it and goes back, brings over the letter. The
hero takes the letter and reads it.)
'I don't know who will find this letter. But please consider it my last will
and testament. For by the time you read this, I will already be gone. I am
going to the tower in the east. I will not return until my brother's death is
avenged. Mother, I'm sorry for the damage I've caused to our family's
reputation. But this is about something far bigger than tradition. I must
follow my heart, no matter the consequences. Please forgive me. And to Bangerz
and Mash, I'm sorry for lying to you. I hope you'll forgive me as well.
Signed, Jessica'
(The party then goes back to the second floor and talks to Bangerz and Mash.)
Bangerz: ...What!? She's not in her room!? Ha! I knew you were dodgy from the
first moment I saw you, so don't think you can put one over on me! There's no
way she's not in her room! So prove it! You can't just say something like that
without proof! Are you a complete thicko, or what!?
(talk for the second time...)
IF YOU CHOOSE YES IN THE QUESTION 'Show him Jessica's letter?' THE FOLLOWING
DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
(The hero reads the letter...)
Bangerz: What!? A letter from Jessica? No way! You're lying! She's been in her
room the whole time! So how could she give you a letter?
Mash: I dunno. It sounds sorta real to me.
Bangerz: ...... Okay! Fine! I'll check her room! But if I'm right, you'd better
leave and never come back! Got it?
IF YOU CHOOSE YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Bangerz: Right. Just wait here. No running away, now!
(Bangerz opens the door so quickly that Mash's head was hit very hard...:D)
Bangerz: Hey! She is gone! Gimme that letter!
(The hero gives Jessica's letter to Bangerz.)
Bangerz: This is definitely Jessica's handwriting. But if she really did go to
the tower, she'll end up just like her brother Alistair! This is bad...This is
REALLY bad...We've gotta do something! We've gotta get her out of there! You!
This is partly your fault! So I'll open the door to the tower. You go in and
get her. Got it?
IF YOU CHOOSE YES THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE WILL OCCUR
Bangerz: Okay! We've gotta hurry! To get to the tower, go left down the path
outside the village!
(Bangerz joins your party!)
Bangerz: One more thing. I'll leave the monsters to you lot! Listen, Mash.
Whatever you do, don't let Jessica's mum find out where she went!
Mash: Yessir, Bangerz!
Bangerz: Good! Come on! We've gotta hurry!
(The party goes to the tower to the east of the village. In front of a sealed
door...)
Bangerz: We made it! Jessica's in there. Now let's get this door open. It's a
special door, y'know. Only the people of Alexandra know how to open it. Go on,
give it a try if you don't believe me.
Bangerz: Looks like you trust me. Sorry for doubting you. This is an emergency,
so I'll show you how to open the door. But you have to promise never to tell
anyone! Okey. Here we go.
(Bangerz opens the door...from the bottom :D editor's note: oooow..I felt like
cheated >_<)
Bangerz: Open sesame! Pretty cool, eh? It opens from the bottom! ......(laugh)
Well, this is as far as I'm goin'. I'll head back to the village now. You help
Jessica!
(Bangerz leaves the party and heads back to the village, while the hero have to
go up the towers and find out the truth. At 7th floor, when the hero examines
the statue in the middle...The statue's eyes are set with a pair of beautiful,
shimmering jewels. Yet at this time, Jessica come here, too...)
Jessica: You! I knew you'd be back for the jewels! You killed my brother! Now
you'll suffer the same fate!-
(Jessica throws two fireballs at the hero but the hero successfully evades it.
One of the fireballs makes the statue on fire.)
Jessica: You're fast! I guess thieves need to be quick on their toes! But you
won't get away from me this time! Prepare...to...d-
(Jessica is charging up a big fireball, while a man's voice is heard from the
statue...)
Man: ...Wait!
(Jessica stops...)
Man: Jessica. It's me! Don't you recognise my voice?
Jessica: A-Alistair!?
Alistair's soul: Stay your spell, Jessica! I wasn't slain at their hands.
Jessica: Stay my spell!? But it's too late!
(Jessica throws the fireball away, and rushes to the statue.)
Jessica: Alistair! Alistair! It that really you?
Alistair's soul: It's me, Jess. You...have to listen to me. As do you travel-
lers...After I died, a part of my soul...was allowed to linger in this statue.
Even now as I speak to you...The power keeping me here begins to evaporate...
Time is short...Look into the statue's eyes...The truth lies within...Hurry...
The day I died, the door to the tower was already open. I thought it was
strange. So I decided to look around and see for myself. That's when I saw him.
(The camera flashback the day Alistair mentioned. He goes up to the top floor
and suddenly a figure appears...)
Alistair: Who are you?
Unknown: Such a pity.
Alistair: Pity...!? What are you talking about? Who are you? Answer me!
Unknown: Me? I am Dhoulmagus. And I was referring to the fragility of human
life.
Alistair: Fragility? What do you mean!?
(Alistair was trying to draw his sword, yet...)
Alistair: My... My sword! I, I can't draw my sword!
Dhoulmagus: I said: such a pity. A terrible pity that a shining young star like
you should chance to encounter me.
(Dhoulmagus's rod shined a evil light...and started to walk towards Alistair.)
Alistair: Ngggh! What have you done...to...me...? Dhoulmagus...! I won't...
forget this!
Dhoulmagus: What? You won't forget my name? You're too kind! I shall return the
favour, and remember yours as well. Now. Let us finish this before I feel any
more pity...
Alistair: DHOULMAGUS!!!
(Dhoulmagus hugged Alistair(?) and stabs him...Alistair then fell to the ground
and died.)
Dhoulmagus: ......It has been an honour making your acquaintance. You may rest
assured, your death will not be in vain. ......Ha ha ha! Mua ha ha ha! HA HA HA
HA! AH HA HA HA!
(Dhoulmagus laughed and disappeared, and the camera switches back.)
Alistair's soul: And now you have seen what the statue saw, my travelling
friends. I don't understand it myself. But it seems the Statue of Alexandra has
been awaiting your arrival. If the memory of my tale can serve you on your
quest, it would bring great relief to my soul...My stay here is coming to an
end. It's time for us to part...
Jessica: No! Alistair! Don't leave me!
Alistair's soul: One final thing, Jess...Mother may try to stand in your way.
Nevertheless...Follow your heart, and do as you must. Farewell, my little
sister...
(The fire on the statue is gone out, and Alistair's soul disappeared.)
Trode: What a tragic affair. There can be no question. This is Dhoulmagus's
treachery!
(Yangus was very surprised by Trode's words.)
Yangus: COR BLIMEY!
Trode: It would appear that Alistair also wishes us to bring Dhoulmagus to
justice. His sacrifice shall not be in vain. Now we have yet another reason to
stop Dhoulmagus's foul reign of terror...I shall await you by the carriage.
Cheerio!
(Trode turns back and exits, and when the hero tries to go...)
Jessica: Um...I really apalogise for my behaviour. We'll talk more later, but I
need to be alone right now...I'll see you back at the village.
(Jessica continues to cry at her brother's death...The hero then exits the
tower and goes back to the village. In front of the inn door...)
Bangerz: Oh, you're back! You were ages! I was starting to get worried! So
where's Jessica? Hmm... Really? So you saw her in the tower? Well, it's not
brilliant, but I suppose if she said she was coming back, then that's good
enough. Thanks for your help, (Hero). You were a bit of a pain at first, but
you're pretty sound, I suppose. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I asked at the inn if
they'd be able to put you up for the night. Mash and I put our pocket money to-
gether to pay for it. So you'd better not let it go to waste!
(Then the party goes into the inn and sleeps for the night. Next morning, go to
the Albert mansion and approach Jessica...)
Lorenzo: Hold on there! This is a family matter. The lady will attend to you
shortly.
Rosalind: I'm going to ask you again, Jessica. Are you entirely bereft of com-
passion!? Will you not mourn your own brother's death!?
Jessica: Not this, again! Of course I'm sad! I can't believe I even have to say
it! But all you can think of is tradition and family obligations! I'm talking
about avenging his murder!
Rosalind: Avenging...? You will stop this foolishness this instant! You are a
young lady, not a warrior! Do you really think AListair would have wanted this?
You will mourn your brother's death like a proper lady! It's our family's way.
Jessica: Our family's way? Who cares about our family's way!? I don't expect
you to believe me, but Alistair spoke to me! He told me to follow my heart.
That's why my mind is made up. I don't care about the consequences. I'm going
to make Alistair's murderer pay.
Rosalind: ......Very well. It's obvious there's no talking to you. Do as you
wish. But... As far as I'm concerned, I no longer have a daughter! I want you
out of this house at once!
Jessica: Fine! I was planning on leaving until you came to your senses, anyway!
Bangerz! Mash! Let me through. I'm getting my things!
(The two let Jessica through, and Jessica goes into her room and changes, then
Jessica talks to the two.)
Jessica: I'm sorry for not telling you the truth before. Forgive me?
Bangerz: Are you really leavin', Jessica?
Jessica: Yeah. I am. And I want you two to watch over the village while I'm
gone. Alistair told me this would happen. He said you two would protect the
town and grow up to be famous warriors.
Mash: (Sob, sob...! Sniff...)
Jessica: Come on. Chin up. Your mission guarding my room is over. I want you to
patrol outside from now on!
Bangerz: Yes, sir!
Mash: (Sob!)
(The two run out of the scene. Jessica stares at them, then goes back in front
of Rosalind.)
Jessica: Well, I'm leaving! Thanks for being such a great mum! Have a nice
life!
(Jessica walks away and leaves the house...for the last time. The party leaves
the mansion, and founds Bangerz and Mash in the village, patrolling.)
Bangerz: Oh, it's you. If you're looking for Jessica, she said she was going to
Port Prospect. She heard rumours there about some weirdo or other, and she said
she's going to stop him. If you want to go there, just head towards the tower
and go right where the path splits into two. Then just following it along 'til
you get there. It's quite a long way, though. If you're going, you'd better
make sure you're well-prepared before you set off.
(As there's nothing left for the party to do here, the hero leave the village
and goes to their next destination -- Port Prospect.)
不知道大家的看法如何呢……
